Wedding season keeping up my skills!

Eleven!! That is the number of weddings we have travelled to. All of our friends decided to get married at the same time in many different places; our last one is in London in September at the Downtown Abbie’s Castle (I don't watch the show but my friends tell me is a pretty cool place). I will be my first time in England so I am really looking forward. For this reason I have not been training as much as I would have liked to. My new schedule is not as flexible as I had imagined graduate school to be. I am now training in the mornings twice a week at PGS, going to school for my graduate school classes and then going to the lab in the afternoon. I also train once a week at night after coaching the developmental team at PGS and sometimes I train Saturday’s afternoons after at PGS. So I am averaging 3 – 4 times a week which is not much but enough to keep up my skills. Coaching? Yeah!! I am officially coaching a developmental team (6-9yo girls) getting them ready to move on to pre-team. I have been coaching recreational classes once a week ever since I joined PGS but for the first time I am coaching an actual team. I am very excited about it. Can’t wait to see these girls grow into their own gymnastics. As for this season… this will be my last season. I think is time to move on, my body is ache, and I guess, through my coaching the girls I have come to realized that in order to be involved and get satisfaction from the sport, I don't have to compete myself. I am still processing what it means to me “the last season” but I am just letting you know that it will be my last season. For my last season, my goal is to go to NAIGC Nationals and for the first time go to a major competition with a positive attitude, without stress, with hunger not to win but to have a good time, to show in every one of my routines the fact that I love this sport. And well I wont lie … hopefully place on the AA. But in all seriousness, what I want is to have a good attitude and to show myself that I can do well in gymnastics while having fun!!
