Step 1 ... check!

BOARDS BOARDS BOARDS are finally over!!!!!! Sorry it has taken me a long time to update this blog. Step 1 just took over my life. Despite the craziness I still managed to have a good season. We added a new member to our UC team Natalie, she is a third year in medical student and someone I want to be when I grow old!! I am amazed as how she is able to train and be an M3 and I thought I had it rough… The highlight of the season for sure was winning 1st place team ahead of UNC (my old team) at Tennessee. Natalie came in 3rd place all around and I got 1st place AA. Since the moment I started training with Scott it has all been about me, my goals, my skills, my placing on competitions… this season was the first time that I have truly experienced the being a part of a team. Winning the AA was exciting and I was proud of myself, but winning the team competition gave me even a greater satisfaction. It wasn't all of the sudden about me. My good performance had a purpose and knowing that I had contributed to that purpose felt 10000 times better than any individual award I have ever been given. I am looking forward for our next season where we will get to go to NAIGC Nationals. This year, I was unable to go to Nationals because of boards, and the rest of the team did not get organized enough to go to Minneapolis but next year watch out NAIGC… UC Gymnastics is going to Chatanooga, TN!!!
